Setting Up An Experimental Wave Tank

Project Description (Abstract):

This project will focus on experiments. There is existing wave tank equipment in the department. This will need to be set up and tested. The first step will be to use different methods for generating waves such as having different types of paddles in different positions in the tank. Once several of these methods are set up, methods for measurement of wave amplitude and frequency will need to be implemented. These can include using reflection or refraction of light as well as measuring properties of waves by using probes such as pressure probes.
